"Yeah, regarding Post-Modernism, I have always questions its actual validity, or EXISTENCE, yet, I find myself still using the term and I have a friend who is very much in favor of it. My philosophy has been that Modernism was never exhausted, that we are still in its era and that this paradigm has not yet shifted on so how can we really say POST-Modernism? Yet the damn thing keep creeping around, claiming things like Installation Art, and Performance Art, even though these things are really just Modern. And then there's Philosophy which started applying the term Modern centuries ago but I still think they haven't advanced too much. What has changed are Gender Politics, and Race Politics, BUT, that evolution isn't anywheres near complete yet. So maybe when all the races have blended into a single new race, and a bunch of other changes, then we might say POST_MODERN? So to agree with you, the Avant-Garde and Painting are not dead and cannot be dead for that matter, They own the edge, so get off my cloud academic fuc*s, "I own your language, you just study me!" Or they will be shortly, Wont they, tisk tisk."

I am with you in your thoughts entirely. The terms I usually describe myself with are avant-garde, and experimental. Modern or Contemporary also, it depends who I am talking with. Post-modern I am not quite, which I reserve more for installation and performance art, etc.

- yet at some point there is a break down in these categories and I'll have more to say about that later.

Definitely include me in your group, but one thing I might add is that developing and inventing ones own TECHNIQUES, which usually comes through experimentation with ideas and process, is KEY to the cutting edge. Things become cliche and an idiom very quickly, and this is a big problem with photography and especially digital photography. If you haven't written your own software for the digital part, then you'll probably need to start painting on it radically or effecting it in some physical manner because there are literally millions of kids out there experimenting with photoshop. You might pass this on to Maggie for me before I see her work so that I say it unsubjectively. In fact, in the form of a discussion for everyone to get in on. Our faction should have a place, be it notes on Facebook, or our own website, where we can discus ideas and state manifestos and ideas. So all this is on the record.

Surrealism in its hey day had manifestos, but these guys now are all caught up in an idiom no matter how sublime they are. Octavian is the most original of them by virtue of his beautiful weirdness and philosophical nature, though his literalness keeps him in one place, I think. For this group to advance they will need also to be avant-garde and experimental, even post-modern, in their case. for their idiom already exists and was modern. Maybe we could show them a thing or two.

Through experimenting with ideas, collaborations, techniques, and processes, we may, if we are lucky, stumble upon something that could be presented as a group show, by our faction, which might be viewed as finally a new art movement.

As to internet, for 3 months I will have no broadband access and no wireless service because I am in a wilderness area without a nearby cell phone tower. I am waiting tables at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel Dining Room in Yellowstone Park, Wyoming.

The Bloom

The Bloom

A broken thorn reminds me of

A bloom that I once held.

And seared upon my memory

The flower's bloom did'st gracefully

Remind me of how gratefully

I beheld it’s color fair.

And now I know it’s history

From that which I was blessed to see

How joy which did so artfully

Breathe out it’s fragrant mystery

And gave to me, a kiss for thee

That colored Rose did'st spare.

We've done it and gone underground. 3 of my works can now be found and purchased at The Best Little Hippie store in Greenville North Carolina, at "Links". If you're in the area it's uptown in G'ville on Evans Street. More to come, pictures of work and more art installed.

!kohaus going underground

I've decided my group will be using and come from the underground. Being so far ahead were making a move to the underground with our work. We'll make it available on line and at certain galleries and stores among our artists areas, but rather than striving for the limelight we'll concentrate back on Art 2 the People.

The stars have always guided us where we wished to go
And in the movement of our mercies
To each a gift is given
With unmeasured hand

My dear friend, I am so sorry I did not have the time to answer to your fantastic work what you did for me. I am still in California trying to do something with my work; hard hard, hard.....but I hope!
For the film, of course just go ahead.
Thank you

Man I shouldn't even talk to you but.....I like to joke so I'm glad you liked it. I still need the ending. You opened my eyes to many things in my art direction, I'm actually heading a small faction of WAF artists that into the experimental Avante-garde style which encompasses your philosophy too but uses modern technology.

I am still sure that my time spent with you was my chance at being with a future giant in the art world. I look forward to working with you again.
